A key focus of the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is that it is an entry level qualification required by trainers and assessors of training package qualifications as determined by the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF). It is recognised that there is a broad range of stakeholders in the VET industry, ranging from VET professionals to industry trainer/assessors to enterprise trainer/ assessors. As the basic training qualification the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is designed to provide the essential elements of what is needed by an entry trainer and assessor in any Vocational Education and Training (VET) context as well as providing a firm, foundation on which to build further knowledge and skills.
The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110) qualification assumes that the learner is engaged in a training and education environment or has a vocational skill at a level that supports training and education in the subject area in which it is intended to teach.
