RTO Quality and National Licensing Administrator
Reports to:
Manager, Business Operations

Unit 26, "Strathlink", 27 South Pine Road, Brendale Qld 4500
Primary roles and responsibilities:
  • Development of administrative systems and processes to support the business in complying with AQTF standards
  • Development of new and existing courses, learning materials, assessment instruments and marketing materials in consultation with an ASLS Principal
  • Coordinate Workplace Health and Safety Queensland National Licensing trainer / assessor applications, onboarding and periodic reviews
  • Coordinate Professional Development days for trainers/ assessors appointed for National Licensing units of competence
  • Identification of potential client groups and marketing opportunities for training and assessment services
  • Compliance with the ASLS Code of Practice, established policies and procedures and legislative requirements in relation to employment with ASLS and work within the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development, superior client service and the continuous improvement of all ASLS products and services
  • Commitment to working effectively and cooperatively within the ASLS team
Physical requirements
  • Able to work at a computer work station with ergonomic aids (if required)
  •  Ability to drive (or fly if necessary) to clients in regional areas
  • Willingness to be away from home for up to a week (or longer if necessary) for consultancy or training projects
  • Ability to move training materials with the aid of a trolley
Essential qualifications:
  • High risk work National License and / or relevant Heavy Industry experience
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40110
  • Current driver’s license
Essential experience:
  • Experience in developing and administering business systems relevant to the provision of training and development services
  •  Experience in reviewing processes and systems for the purpose of checking on quality and identifying improvement initiatives relevant to the delivery of training and assessment
  • Previous National Licensing and/or Heavy Industry experience
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
  • Knowledge of VET sector compliance frameworks, the structure of the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and mutual recognition principles
  • Knowledge of Commonwealth and Queensland legislation and its application in relation to vocational training, anti-discrimination, OH&S and copyright laws
  • Knowledge of WHSQ National Licensing framework and compliance requirements
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles
  • Knowledge of nationally endorsed assessment principles
  • Ability to interpret legislation
  • Ability to operate a computer using Microsoft Office programs e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Access
  • Ability to produce course materials using appropriate language and style and adhering to established presentation guidelines
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and adult learners so that they achieve successful outcomes and the reputation of ASLS is enhanced. 
Duties:
  • Conduct internal audits of training and assessment processes for compliance with WHSQ National Licensing and the AQTF standards
  • Develop administrative systems, policies, procedure and processes that ensure:
    • Compliance with AQTF standards is maintained in the marketing, advertising and delivery of training and assessment services;
    • Areas of non-compliance with AQTF standards are addressed and corrected
    • All ASLS staff are informed of administrative systems and processes relating to ASLS’ status as an RTO
  • Administer systems that ensure all nationally endorsed training and assessment materials are maintained and updated correctly and the changes recorded
  • Administer traineeships ensuring ASLS meets all statutory requirements and reporting obligations
  • Assist in the production of accredited course materials, including preparation of participant learning and assessment materials and facilitator resources, relevant to qualifications and experience
  • Consult with learning partnership organisations, associates and sub-contractors about their training and assessment activities conducted under the auspices of ASLS
  • Assist in the design marketing materials e.g. course brochures, advertisements etc.
